About the event

Did you know that there are over 20 muscles that cross the hip? Opening the hips no only releases tightness in that area, but it helps relieve strain on the spine, especially for those of us that spend a long portion of our day sitting at a desk. Opening the hips can also produce an energetic shift in the body. Yoga tradition says that the hips are a storage ground for negative feelings and pent up emotions, especially ones related to control in our lives. By spending time on opening this area, we can experience an intense emotional release that can enable us promote greater acceptance throughout all aspects of our lives.

Yoga Nidra is a meditation and conscious relaxation practice that is intended to induce total physical, mental, and emotional relaxation. Engaging in Yoga Nidra after opening the hips will help to allow the mind to let go and absorb the benefits of deep meditation.
